💛 Meet the Team: Toddler Time 💛

Meet Ms. Emily and Ms. Ty! 👋

Ms. Emily has been part of the YWCA family for 23 years, and Ms. Ty for 10. Together, they've helped countless toddlers build confidence, discover their independence, make new friends, and fill our classrooms with laughter and joy.

✨ When asked about her favorite part of Toddler Time, Ms. Emily shared:
"The classroom comes alive. They bring joy and laughter, and their personalities shine through."

🎨 Ms. Ty is a trained artist who loves bringing creativity into the classroom. She shared:
"Watching the children create their crafts and art is very special to me because I get to see how happy and proud they are of what they created."

When asked to describe Toddler Time in just three words, they chose: growing, friendships, laughter, and family. 💙

Visionary leaders like Dr. Dorothy Irene Height, Rosetta Evelyn Lawson, Grace Hoadley Dodge, and Julia Morgan, all pictured here, transformed opportunities for women, communities of color, and future generations. Their courage and leadership continue to inspire the work of YWCA communities across the country, including right here at YWCA Darien/Norwalk. ✨

Today, we celebrate their legacy and recommit ourselves to building a future rooted in peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. ❤️🤍💙

Today, we are sharing an important leadership update from YWCA Darien/Norwalk.

After eight years of dedicated service to the organization, including the last two and a half as Chief Executive Officer, Jennifer Buchholz will be transitioning from her role later this year.

Jennifer first joined YWCA Darien/Norwalk as a member of the Board of Directors before becoming CEO in 2024. Throughout her tenure, she has helped strengthen the organization, expand community partnerships, enhance programming, and increase YWCA's visibility throughout the region.

We are deeply grateful for Jennifer's leadership, dedication, and commitment to our mission.

As we look ahead and prepare to celebrate our 50th anniversary, the Board of Directors has launched a search for YWCA Darien/Norwalk's next Chief Executive Officer. We are excited about the future and the opportunity to welcome a new leader who will help guide the organization through its next phase of growth and impact.
